Air Travel

The most convenient commercial airport with the best flight availability is Missoula International Airport (MSO), a short 1.5-hour drive to The Ranch. Other commercial airports within a reasonable distance include:
  • Butte Bert Mooney (BTM): 1.25 hour drive
  • Helena Regional Airport (HLN): 2 hour drive
  • Bozeman Yellowstone Int’l Airport (BZN): 2.5 hour drive
If you are traveling by private aircraft, you have the option of traveling in and out of the following airstrips, in addition to the above mentioned airports:
  • Bowman Field Airport in Anaconda (3U3): 45-minute drive
  • Riddick Field in Philipsburg (U05): 25-minute drive
We include airport transfers from Missoula, Butte and Anaconda (private flights).

From Missoula, Butte and Anaconda Airports

A Ranch employee will greet guests at the airport and drive them to The Ranch. Water and snacks are available for the drive.

Airport transfers from Bozeman and Helena are available at an additional $350 per vehicle, per way, for up to five guests. For more flight information, visit the Montana Office of Tourism website.

Driving Directions

To get to The Ranch from Missoula

  • Travel on I-90 E towards Butte and take exit 153 for Drummond/Philipsburg
  • Turn right onto MT-1/Pintler Veteran’s Memorial Scenic Highway.
  • Continue for 34 miles.
  • Turn right onto the Skalkaho Highway (Route 38)—the turn is six miles past Philipsburg.
  • Travel up the Skalkaho Highway for 12 miles, until you cross Rock Creek.
  • Take an immediate right and head down Rock Creek Road/Carriage House Lane for two miles.
  • Take a left when you see The Ranch at Rock Creek arch and the Granite Lodge.

To get to The Ranch from Butte

  • Take I-90 W towards Missoula and continue for 13.5 miles.
  • Take exit 208 toward MT-1 N/Pintler Veteran’s Memorial Scenic Highway.
  • Continue onto MT-1 N, traveling for 8.8 miles. (This road will become W Commercial Avenue and MT-1/W Park Avenue in the town of Anaconda).
  • Follow this road for 22.5 miles, winding around lakes and down a mountain pass.
  • Turn left onto the Skalkaho Highway (MT Route 38).
  • Travel up this Highway for 12 miles until you cross Rock Creek.
  • Take an immediate right and head down Rock Creek Road/Carriage House Lane for two miles.
  • Take a left when you see The Ranch at Rock Creek arch and the Granite Lodge.
