Frequently Asked Questions
Two activities per day are included in your stay. The Ranch is proud to offer over 18 activities to enjoy and we encourage guests to try new experiences. Outside of these twice-daily experiences, guests are welcome to partake in self-guided hiking and biking around our beautiful 6,600 acres. Each season also boasts wonderful additional inclusions throughout the week to enjoy, such as casting lessons, naturalist classes or sunrise hikes.
We take great consideration and care with each of our guests, we are often unable to pre-book activities sooner than 3-4 weeks prior to arrival.
To allow every party a full experience, and to ensure we are sustainably stewarding the lands we enjoy, we maintain a 3:1 guest to guide ratio. Many of our activities can be done in larger groups and we encourage families to bond and build memories. For this reason, we ask parties smaller than six to stay together on activities, with the exception of seasonal programming and self-guided excursions. Guests are also always welcome to split off from the group to enjoy a custom massage or facial at The Spa at Rock Creek.
For the safety of both our guests and horses, our riding program requires guests to be eight years or older and under 250 lbs. to trail ride. However, guests between the ages of four and eight will find great fun in experiencing our arena riding, adopt-a-horse program and horseback obstacle course!
Additionally, we have a 4’8 and 80 lb. limit to partake in our ropes course.
To allow each family an opportunity to ride as well as for the preservation of our land and horse herd, we are unable to guarantee multiple horseback rides during your stay.
We are not a traditional dude ranch, but rather an all-inclusive ranch featuring an activities program designed to give guests experiences and instruction for a plethora of Montana activities and hobbies. Our landscape is uniquely suited to fly fishing, hiking, sapphire mining, archery, shooting sports, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, disc golf, snowmobiling, ice skating, cross-country and downhill skiing and much more. Horseback riding is only one small facet of the breadth of adventure available.
Most activities vary between 1 and 2 hours long, with the exception of off-ranch excursions.
Your Ranch Ambassador will work with you to perfect your itinerary until 1 week prior to arrival. Within a week of arrival we are unable to make further changes to the schedule and encourage guests to visit our Rod and Gun activity club to inquire about any additional changes on site. On-site changes are subject to availability.
While not mandatory, we highly encourage guests to fill out our guest questionnaire in order to ensure a timely and seamless pre-booking experience. Additionally, guest information is used to outfit you for all your adventures. Having your gear and outwear prepared prior to each activity ensures you get more time to enjoy the great outdoors.
