Old Works Golf Course offers Ranch at Rock Creek guests an extraordinary opportunity to experience world-class golf in Montana. Designed by Jack Nicklaus’s prestigious firm, Nicklaus Design, this par 72 course balances challenge with playability and is enjoyed by novice and seasoned golfers.
As you navigate 7,705 yards of beautifully maintained fairways, you’ll experience the area’s natural splendor and the leftovers of its rich industrial history. The front nine weave among preserved remnants of the historic Upper Works smelting facility for a unique glimpse into Montana’s mining past. Instead of traditional sand, the bunkers feature “sland,” a black, sand-like slag material left behind by Old Works’ smelting furnaces.
Nourished by local water sources and managed with strict environmental stewardship, Old Works Golf Course provides a sanctuary for native wildlife and golf enthusiasts. Don’t be surprised to spot white-tailed deer or grazing elk while you play.

How far in advance should I schedule?
We strive to have guest itineraries finalized a week prior to their arrival. You must schedule your own tee time on-site and reserve your own clubs.

How long does it take to get from The Ranch to the Old Works Golf Course?
The drive from The Ranch to Old Works in Anaconda, MT takes about 45 minutes.
What if I have to cancel?
As a courtesy to the course, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellation. Guests who are unable to join us for their scheduled activity will be charged the full price.
What time of year is the best for golf in Montana?
Golf is available from May to October between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM as a morning or afternoon excursion in place of an included activity.
Is food included?
Food and drinks can be purchased at guests’ expense at Jack’s Grille, open for lunch every day and breakfast/lunch Saturday through Sunday.
