FAQ
The Ranch is located 20 miles outside of historic town of Philipsburg, Montana in Granite County, an area known as Gold Country. We are off the beaten path in the western region of the state and approximately half-way between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. The Ranch is near the cities of Missoula, Butte and Helena. We are at an elevation of 5,200 feet and a Latitude/Longitude of 46° N, 113 W. Our GPS coordinates are: Lat 46.256434 Lon 113.522075
The Ranch property is comprised of mountains, soft hills, meadows, pasture, forest, a mountain-fed creek and gravel roads. It is a short distance from the Beaverhead-Deer Lodge National Forest and the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness Area, as well as Discovery Ski Area. Nestled at the base of the John Long Mountains, our 6,600 acres of ranch land also encompasses four miles of frontage along Rock Creek, a Blue Ribbon designated fishery that flows into the Clark Fork River. To the far south, soft rolling hills give way to snow-capped peaks of the Pintler Mountains. Northward, cottonwood trees stretch along the valley floor following the creek flowing deep into the Sapphire Mountains.
The Ranch at Rock Creek is deeply committed to guest service and safety.
We ensure full sanitization services between room stays, in addition to twice-daily housekeeping services. Guests may request reduced or no services during their stay. In addition, we provide hand sanitizer and disinfecting products for guest use in each accommodation.
We continue to offer private activities; however, some special events or seasonal happenings are more social in nature and will be available to all guests.
We are now requiring dinner reservations to ensure there is plenty of room to safely interact and plenty of time to sanitize spaces. Ranch staff is dutifully following all CDC recommended guidelines. For dining, this means detailed cleaning throughout the day.
If you have further questions or would like to request mask use or social distancing, please contact your Ranch Ambassador after booking.

Yes.
No. As part of our homestead hospitality, guests are welcomed into our dining spaces like they would be on a friends’ ranch. Great friendships have been forged during social hour while reminiscing on the day’s adventures with fellow guests. Our small footprint and low maximum occupancy is designed to make an intimate, comfortable environment where guests can socialize with each other or find a quiet corner to enjoy their dining experience. Due to 20 of our accommodations being free-standing across our 6,600 acres, it is impossible to replicate the wine pairings or thoughtful plating that accompanies Executive Chef Drage’s unique farm-to-table dining experiences away from our hard-working Relaix & Châteaux kitchen staff in our dining venues.
In cases where a guest is ill or has mobility issues, we will accommodate those needs with in-room dining as needed.
We encourage guests to stay for a minimum of five to seven nights in order to take advantage of all the activities and dining experiences The Ranch has to offer. Please refer our rates page to view any minimum night stay restrictions based on the season you would like to visit. During the summer months and seasonal celebrations, such as Memorial Day Weekend, the Fourth of July, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, we host an extended itinerary of special events, which may include stagecoach and sleigh rides, a rodeo, a barn dance, and unique dining experiences in the Buckle Barn. Staying a full week ensures that you will be able to experience more of our all-inclusive weekly experiences. You will also have more time to enjoy our The Spa at Rock Creek treatments and mind & body classes as well as our off-Ranch excursions such as float trips.

The Ranch does not have a formal dress code, but most guests dress Western casual, no jacket required. Attire is relaxed and comfortable, even at dinner. For activities, we recommend dressing in layers. Hiking boots, shorts or loose-fitting pants, and short and long-sleeved shirts are best for summer hiking, mountain biking, and fishing. For winter, please pack mid-weight to heavy jackets, sweaters, long-sleeved shirts (fleece, wool and flannel), jeans, weather resistant pants, long johns, warm socks, snow pants, winter snow boots, hats, gloves, and scarves. Other extras you may want to pack include sunglasses, a camera, and a swimsuit. Riding and hiking boots are available in limited sizes on-site, as is all gear necessary to participate in all Ranch activities.
Due to enhanced sanitary procedures, we recommend that guests pack their own boots, hats, gloves, sunglasses and coats for the safety of staff and guests.
Wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet is available in all accommodations and public guest areas.
Due to The Ranch’s remote mountain location, we have equipped all accommodations with landline phones for use during your stay. All local, domestic and international calls are included in your all-inclusive rate. Verizon Wireless customers have service in the Granite Lodge and in several other locations on property. Other carrier service is limited or non-existent.
